At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge On Thursday the 15^th day of February 1838
Present: M^r Cosham, M^r Wyatt, M^r Beard, M^r Holbrow, M^r Jos^h Fisher, M^r Eycott, M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r Eycott, M^r P H Fisher.
Examined the Books and Accounts of the Company.
John Morgan of Old market Street in the City of Bristol Clerk to Thomas Jones of Burfield House in the parish of Westbury in the County of Gloucester Esquire attended on the part of the said Thomas Jones, who is Son and acting Executor named in the Last Will and Testament of Thomas Jones late of Stapleton in the County of Gloucester Esquire deceased; and made out the Claim of the said Thomas Jones the Son, to three Shares, numbered 132, 191 and 195 in the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation standing in the name of the said Thomas Jones deceased, by producing the Probate of the said Will of the said Thomas Jones deceased (the Will bearing date the 28 day of June 1828) granted out of and under the Seal of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury the 18^th day of November 1837 to the said Thomas Jones the Son and one of the Executors named in the said Will of the said Thomas Jones deceased. And the Claim of the said Thomas Jones the Son to the said Three Shares was admitted accordingly.
The above name John Morgan also attended on the part of Thomas Jones of Burfield House in the parish of Westbury in the County of Gloucester Esquire, who is the Son and Acting Executor named in the Last Will and Testament of Thomas Jones late of Stapleton in the County of Gloucester Esquire deceased bearing date the 28^th day of June 1828, and made out the Claim of the said Thomas Jones the Son to Six Shares numbered 98, 5, 6, 93, 127 and 68 in the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation standing in the names of the said Thomas Jones deceased and Thomas Roberts as being the Surviving Executors and Trustees named in the Will William Battersby of the City of Bristol deceased whereby the said Six Shares were given to the said Thomas Jones deceased and the said Thomas Roberts (now also deceased) Upon the Trust in the said Will of the said William Battersby mentioned - By producing a Certificate of Burial of the said Thomas Roberts in the parish of Saint James' Bristol on the 28^th day of August 1837 and also the probate of the said Last Will of the said Thomas Jones deceased, granted out of and under the Seal of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury the 18^th day of November 1837 of the said Thomas Jones the Son and one of the Executors named in the said Will of the said Thomas Jones deceased by which probate it appears that the said Thomas Jones the Testator departed this life the 11^th day of October 1837 having survived the said Thomas Roberts his Cotrustee of the said Six Shares, and by which said Will it appears that the said Thomas Jones the Testator deceased appointed his wife Frances Jones, his said Son the said Thomas Jones and his (the Testators) Son in law, Robert Newton Shaw, Executors of his said Will. And the Claim of the said Thomas Jones the Son, as such Acting Executor of the said Thomas Jones deceased to the said Six Shares so held by the said Thomas Jones his late father deceased, IN trust as aforesaid, is hereby admitted accordingly.
