Special Meeting. Messrs Osborne, Ward & Sons suggested similar clause in Bristol & Gloucestershire Extension Railway Bill to that in Cheltenham & Great Western Union Railway Act for protection of T&S Canal. Mr Fisher’s draft of such clauses approved.
At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Monday the 4^th day of February 1839
Present: M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r Hughes, M^r Cosham, M^r Wyatt, M^r Jos Fisher, M^r Beard.
Mess^rs Osborne Ward & Sons having offered (in reply to the letter addressed to them by our Clerk) to Mess^rs Fisher Solicitors to introduce into the Bristol & Gloucestershire Extension Railway Bill as a protection to the Stroudwater Navigation similar clauses to those inserted in the Cheltenham & Great Western Union Railway Act for the protection of the Thames & Severn Canal and Mess^rs Fisher having submitted to this meeting a draft of such clauses (corrected to suit the case of this Navigation) with alterations therein,
Ordered, That the same be approved and that Mess^rs Fisher do forward a copy of the said draft to Mess^rs Osborne Ward & Sons for their purual on part of the Bristol and Gloucestershire Extension Railway Company.
