Concerning the supply of water from the River Frome to the G&B Canal

Mr Purcell
The moment you see the water running our of the Brook into Our Canal near our Wear at Whitminster you are immediately to open our Lock Gates there & lock them back as before. You must be on the look out this afternoon at the above places as I expect the Water will be turned into our Canal this Evening.
You must not take the sheets our of our Wear but let them remain in.
