At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Friday Nov^r 4^th 1842
Present: M^r Cosham, M^r Martin, M^r S Fisher, M^r Stanton, M^r Jos^h Fisher, M^r Wyatt, M^r Holbrow, M^r Hughes, M^r H Beard, M^r Wathen, M^r P H Fisher.
M^r Cosham in the Chair.
M^r Knapp having requested (in a recent Letter to M^r Wathen) that our Committee do state to the Bristol & Gloucester Railway Company the matters of which we complain in Relation to their works near the Ocean, and it being understood that they have violated the provisions of their act in varying and altering the Towing path of the Canal, and I other respects and thereby made themselves liable to this Navigation in the penalty or damages provided for in their act.
Ordered that the following Gentlemen be a sub Committee to view their works and to report in what respect the Railway Company have so violated the act and made themselves liable to the penalty and damages and that if it should appear that such is the Case, to state the same to them; and make the demand of penalties accordingly.
The sub Committee to consist of the following Gent^en: M^r Martin, M^r Croome, M^r Cosham, M^r Stanton.
