Special Meeting. Mr Buckland, on behalf of Mr Cripps, contractor for building railway bridge at Stonehouse asked what compensation would be charged for drawing off water for 6 days to lay foundation of the bridge. No consent for bridge in present place. No consent to driving of tunnel.
Mr Wathen read opinion of Mr Cowling on works of Railway Company. Further opinion from an equity barrister.
Notice to Mr John George and other persons to quit house and premises at Dudbridge.
Reductions in tonnage promised by Thames & Severn Canal Co have not been carried into effect. Mr Denyer to be asked to explain.
Mr Mason to be paid for clock bought for use of Company, £10 11s 0d.
Mr Fisher, Mr Wyatt and Mr Croome to see Mr Marling.
At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Friday the 16^th day of Devember 1842

M^r T C Croome in the Chair, M^r P H Fisher, M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r Jos^h Fisher, M^r Cosham, M^r Hughes. M^r Holbrow, M^r Stanton, M^r Wathen, M^r Wyatt.
M^r Buckland attended on behalf of Mr Cripps the Contractor for building the Bridge near the Ocean at Stonehouse as a Passage for the Bristol and Gloucester Railway over the Navigation to ask what Compensation would be charged for drawing off the water during a period of Six days for the purposes of laying in the Foundation of the Bridge. And he was imformed that this Comp^y could not consent to the Erection of the Bridge in the situation in which it is now contemplated to place it, but that if the situation be changed in such a way as to be satisfactory to this Comp^y every fair facility will be affroded by this Comp^y to the contractor. He was also informed that this Company could not in the present state of things, agree to the driving of the heading or Tunnel but object to it altogether unless upon such Terms as should entirely remove their Objection.
M^r Wathen having read the Opinions obetained by him from M^r Cowling on a Case stated relative to the above mentioned works of the Railway Comp^y near the Ocean at Stonehouse, Resolved that a further Case be stated to him and a further opinion obtained thereon from our Equity Barrister.
Ordered that the following Bills be paid, viz: M^r Durden £1.5.0, M^r Jn Dimock £5.2.9, M^r R^d Cox Quarryman
M^r Kick^r Mason when M^r Wyatt shall have reproted as correct.
Resolved that Notice be given to M^r John George and all other Persons whom it may concern to quit the Dwelling House and premises at Dudbridge rented by M^r George of this Company at the Expiration of his Current year of his Tenancy.
It having been reported to this Meeting that some of the Reductions contemplated by the Resolution of the last General Meeting to have been made by the Thames and Severn Canal Comp^y in their rates of Tonnage have not been carried into effect --
Resolved that M^r Denyer be requested to explain this matter.
Ordered that M^r Mason be paid for the Clock bought by him for the use of the Company amounting to £10.11.0.

Resolved That M^r Fisher M^r Wyatt and M^r Croome be a Subcommittee to see M^r Marling and report thereon.
