Subcommittee received no communication from Messsrs Marling. Response needed before half yearly general meeting.
In case Mr Hawker is rendered wholly incapacitated for his duty as clerk, Mr Cosham to take steps for care and protection of books, papers and property of proprietors.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Friday the 17^th Day of March 1843

The Sub-committee appointed to communicate with Mess^rs Marling on the subject of supplying the Navigation with Water and the works to that purpose, having reported that they had not yet received the Communication from him which their M^r Samuel Marling promised as to his views of the Matter:--
Ordered that the Chairman do inform them of the approaching General Half yearly meeting, and request to hear from them on this Subject, that the same may be presented to the meeting.
Ordered that the Committee meeting preparatory to the next General Half yearly meeting be held on the 17^th day of April nest, and the General Half Yearly meeting of the Proprietors on the 21^st April.
Ordered that in case anything shall occur to render M^r Hawker wholly incapacitated for his duty as Clerk, a Committee Meeting be called with the utmost dispatch; and that in the mean time M^r Cosham do take the requisite steps for the care and protection of the Books papers and property of the proprietors at the office and dwelling house; and that he do provide for the temporary performance of the necessary duties of the Canal Office.
