To John White, lock keeper
Eastington
Mr Brunsdon is felling elms and taking large trees over our swing bridge at Stonehouse without permission. I sent Albert Bassett down by the 10 train, warning him he would be liable for any damage. Tell him no weight more than 3 tons must be taken over. Trees to be cut to not exceed that weight. Bridge in good repair. Mr Workman says Mr Brunsdon must not take timber over until the bridge is packed, at his expense.
