Mr Mason to occupy Company house at Wallbridge at Michaelmas. Use of office and committee rooms for management.

At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Friday August 25th 1843 in pursuance of the Resolution of the Meeting of August 18^th instant.
Present: [In Time 2/6 & 2/6] M^r Cosham, M^r Wathen, M^r Holbrow, M^r S Fisher, M^r Jos^h Fisher in the Chair, M^r Beard, M^r P H Fisher, M^r Martin, M^r Stanton, M^r Hughes, M^r Wyatt, M^r Croome.
It having been proposed and seconded that the Sum of Twenty two pounds be allowed out of the Funds of the Navigation for payment of the Funeral Expenses of our late respected Clerk M^r Geo Hawker:-
Ordered that the question be referred to the next General Meeting of the Proprietors; this Committee not feeling themselves competent to acquiesce in the proposition, though collectively and individually desirouse of testifying their respect to the deceased;
Ordered that a Special General meeting of the proprietors be called for Friday the 8^th day of September next at 12 o'clock at noon to elect a Junior Clerk to the Company; and that the Committee do meet at 10 o'clock am for further consideration of the testimonials and qualifications of the Candidate, preparatory to the General meeting. And that a circular be forwarded to the several proprietors to caution them against pledging their votes to person canvassing for the same.
Ordered that M^r Mason be admitted to the occupation of the Companys House at Walbridge at Michaelmas next, subject to the use of the Office and Committee Rooms by the Committee and Junior Clerk for the purpose of the management of the Navigation.
