Notice from Mr Charles Lawrence re proposed Monmouth & Hereford Railway. Company dissents.
Committee to watch both proposals.
At a Special General Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge in pursuance of Notices dated Dec 26h last "to take into consideration Notices received from two Companies styling themselves the "South Wales Railway" and the "Monmouth and Hereford Railway" on Monday the 6th day of January 1845

A Notice having been read from Mess^rs W O & W Hunt respecting a projected Line of Railway to be called the "South Wales Railway" and desiring to know whether this Company will assent, dissent or remain neuter with respect to any property which the said proposed Line of Railway intends to cross:
Ordered That an answer be returned saying that this Company _dissents_ from the proposed Bill.
A Notice having been read from M^r Charles Lawrence respecting a proposed line of Railway to be called the "Monmouth and Hereford Railway" and desiring to know whether this Company will assent, dissent or remain neuter with respect to any property which the said proposed line of Railway intended to cross:
Ordered That an answer be returned saying that this Company _dissents_ from the proposed Bill.
Ordered that the Committee do watch the Interest of this Company respecting the above named proposed lines of Railway and that if necessary a Sub Committee be appointed to confer with either or both of the Solicitors, Engineers, or other Officers of the proposed Companies.
