Summary

[1920 May] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 12^th day of May 1920 @ 3.20 o'clock pm
Present: F A Little, W^m Davies, W R Bloxam. R J C Little, Philip Jas Evans.
A letter had been received from Mr Evershed stating that he hoped to be well enough in 2 or 3 weeks to visit the canal with a view to estimating cost of the dredging.
Pockett the Tidesman at Framilode had applied for a further increase of war bonus by 18/ a week in addition to the present wage of 25/- bonus of 6/- a week and the value of house in which he lives rent and tax free.
This application had been referred to the Chairman of the Canal Control Committee who had written in reply for the views of this Committee thereon and Mr Snape was instructed to write that in view of Pocketts being permitted to have the Post Office there an addition of 5/- per week should be ample.
Further correspondence had taken place with reference to taking possession of the Navigation by the Government after the cessation of the present control on the 31^St August next and it was decided to make formal application at once to be take over by the Transport Minister under Sec III(1) of the Ministry of Transport Act using the same formula as that adopted by the Sharpness New Docks Company and assuming that the Transfer would be based upon the Terms and Conditions of the present control management and no less favourable than they.
The Tonnage to date was given £85..12..0 against £89..19..0 last year.
Credit balance at Bank £94..18..5 compared with £72..1..5 last year.
