[1920 Nov] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 17^th day of November 1920 @ 3.20 o'clock pm
Present: Edward P Little, W R Bloxam, R J C Little, F A Little, S S Marling.
As requested by the Ministry of Transport It was Resolved to attach the seal of the Company to a formal acceptance of the Load of £36 granted by the Ministry as financial assistance on cessation of Canal Control and accepted by the Company on the 16^th Sept last.
The Clerk was instructed to obtain the necessary timber for the repair of the deck of the Swing Bridge at Whitminster.
He was instructed to report on the Swing Bridge over the Canal at Downfield.
The Clerk reported that:
1 Messrs Apperly Curtis & C^o Ltd had agreed to pay at the rate of £60 a year for (6") pipe to Canal at Dudbridge to date from 24^h June 1920 - accepted.
2 M^r W Grey-Robinson had given notice of his intention to discontinue the arrangement for pipe to Canal if the Company insisted on charging the higher rent. The Committee directed that he should be written to accepting his notice to remove the pipe the letter to be settled by Mr Bloxam.
2 Messrs Smith Rogers & C^o had objected to pay the £10 offering £6 p a stating that if not agreed to by the Company they should remove the pipe. A letter was ordered to be written to them accepting their notice to remove the pipe, the letter to be settled by Mr Bloxam.
As Messrs Hubbard Bros of Bridgend had not replied as verbally promised it was decided that they should again be written to on the matter.
Samuel Sidney Marling of Stanley Park Stroud in the County of Gloucester Gentleman attended under a written authority from Sir Percival Scrope Marling Bart VC of Sedbury Park in the County of Gloucester Samuel Stanley Marling of Stanley Park Stroud in the County of Gloucester Gentleman William John Paley Marling of the Croft Amberley in the said County Gentleman Executors of the Will of Sir William Henry Marling Bart, late of Stanley Park in the aforesaid County deceased who at the time died on the 19^th day of October 1919 at Stanley Park aforesaid and made out their claim to 15 shares numbered respectively 10, 77, 78 94, 108, 121, 141, 151, 152, 153, 154, 164, 168, 169, 170 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation And now standing in the name of the said Sir William Henry Marling Bart aforesaid in the Books of the said Company by producing the tickets or titles of the said 15 shares and the Probate of the Will and Codicil of the said Sir William Henry Marling Bart the said Will bearing date the 28^ty day of June 1917 and the said Codicil attached thereto bearing date the 9^th day of May 1918 and proved by the said Executors in the District Registry attached to the Probate Division of His Majesty's High Court of Justice at Gloucester on the 30^th day of March 1920 and the claim was admitted accordingly and new tickets or titles ordered to be made out on the tickets of titles of the said Sir William Henry Marling Bart being delivered up. Ant as desired by the said Samuel Stanley Marling the Committee directed the Clerk to make out four new Certificates in the name of Sir Percival Scrope Marling Bart VC four new Certificates in the name of Samuel Stanley Marling four new Certificates in the name of Sir Charles Murray Marling and three new Certificates in the name of William John Paley Marling.
