[June 1921] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 15^th day of June 1921 @ 3.20 o'clock pm
Present: Edward P Little, F A Little, W^m Davies, W R Bloxam, Jack Margetson, Philip Jas Evans.
The Chairman explained the purpose of the Meeting on May 9^th when Mr Manning Lewis met the Boatowners & some MIllowners respceting charges made by Railway Companies for use of Coal Tip at Sharpness and stated that Mr Lewis had not heard from the Railway Company so far.
Three applications had been received for house at Dudbridge now occupied by A Simmonds and the question was adjourned till next Meeting to enable further enquiries to be made with reference to Mr Tanner's application on behalf of Mr Ashenford.
Mr Snape reported that repairs to Bottom Gates and Paddles at Blunder Lock had been carried out and that the timber was in stock for a new pair of bottom gates needed there but the Committee decided to postpone the making and fixing of them to a later period.
The stoppage of the Canal for the purpose of fixing the new Middle Gates at the Double Locks had been postponed to enable Coal to be supplied to the Mills directly the Miners resume work.
Over 700 tons of foreign coal had been brought up the Sharpness for the Gas Works at Stroud and Brimscombe.
John Raymond Morton Ball of Stroud Solicitor attended on behalf of himself as administrator of the Estate of the late Alfred John Morton Ball of Stroud Solicitor who died on the 13^th day of February 1921 at Stroud aforesaid and made out his claim to eleven shares numbered respectively 4, 11, 36, 87, 112, 128, 129, 131, 160, 163 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation And now standing in the name of the said Alfred John Morton Ball aforesaid in the Books of the said Company by producing the tickets to the said eleven shares and the letter of Administration granted by the Principal Probate Registry of His Majesty's High Court of Justice on the 10^th day of March 1921 and the claim was admitted accordingly and new tickets or titles ordered to be made out on the tickets or titles of the said Alfred John Morton Ball being delivered up.
The Tonnage to date was shewn to amount to £789..13..3 as compared with £395..15.0 last year and £510..0..7 in 1914.
Credit Balance in Bank was £286..3..9 against £293..17..2 in 1920 at same period and £575..12..5 in 1914.
It was Ordered that the next Committee be fixed for Thursday 28^th July @ 3.20pm and the Half Yearly Meeting be held at 3.45pm on same date.
