[1927 Sept] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 21^st September 1927 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present: John Margetson, R J C Little, Gd Evans, S S Marling.
Admiralty Tide Gauge: Framilode
The Duplicate Licence to erect an Automatic tide gauge and house at Framilode signed by Carl Stanhope and Rear Admiral W W Fisher was produced.
A letter was read from Sir Lionel Darell Bart. The Clerk was instructed to acknowledge the same.
National Omnibus & Transport C^o Ltd: Wallbridge Wharf
Reported payment of £4..3..6 Wharfage charge from 2^nd June to August 1927,
Blunder Lock: Eastington
It was reported that planking had been obtained for the Top Gates at this Lock - cost £4..3..6.
A letter was read from Messrs B J Hooper & Sons of Ebley Saw Mills asking for a reduction in the pipe rate of £10 per annum made to them.
After discussion the Committee decided that no reduction be made.
The Chairman undertook to write in reply.
The Clerk produced Notices under the Rating & Valuation Act 1895 stating the increase in the Rateable Value of the Lock-house at Eastington & the Lock-house at Framilode viz:- 10/- & 15/- per annum respectively.
Withy Bed at the Junction
An offer of £2..- was made by M^r Apperley of Whitminster for the Withy loppings was accepted.
Bristol Road Lock: Bengough Estate
The Clerk was instructed to try and arrange an interview with M^r Armitage on the spot, to make clear to him the extent of the Companys land, in question, on the NW side of the Lock.
Canal Inspection Report: Ocean to Stroud
Postponed.
Canal Inspection: Framilode to Ocean
M^r Hooper had written the Chairman to say he had been unable to arrange a date for this Survey.
Mr Marling, Mr Little & Mr Evans undertook to arrange for the Survey of this Section.
