Special Meeting. Mr Gurney gave particulars of what had taken place in Parliament respecting South Wales Railway Bill. Seal of Company to be fixed to petition against projected tunnel in lieu of bridge across Severn. Injurious to canal.

At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Monday the 23rd day of June 1845
Present: M^r Dan Watts, Jn^o Gurney, Fred^k Eycott, W^m J Wood, Jn^o Holbrow in the Chair, Hen^y Beard, Geo Wathen.
M^r Gurney attended on the part of our Solicitor and gave particulars of what had taken place in Parliament respecting the South Wales Railway.
Ordered that the Seal of the Company be affixed to the Petition now produced against the projected Tunnel in lieu of the Bridge across the Severn as being injurious to the Canal and that Capt Berkeley be requested to present the same.
