To Stroud Rural District Council (Haynes)
Stroud

Summary

Mr Wood's letter to you respecting the detention of his barge near the Walk Bridge, Whitminster, has been read to me by Mr E P Little. I am sorry that Mr Wood has been inconvenienced. This portion of the Canal is maintained by the Sharpness Docks Co to whom I communicated Mr Wood's complaint - their engineer, Mr Cullis, replied that the water was exceptionally low that day - the 14th - due to a combination of circumstances which he thinks are not likely to recur. I hear this morning that he has commenced dredging at the place complained about. Respecting the other parts of the canal, Mr Wood has no complaint.
