Your letter to Mr Haynes has been read to me by W E Little - a member of the Council - re difficulties in navigating the canal between Walk Bridge and the Shallow Lock. I have communicated your complaint to Mr Cullis of Sharpness Dock Co who is responsible for the maintenance of this section. He has replied that they are pumping day and night to deal with the shortage of water which was exceptionally low on the day mentioned - the 14th - due to circumstances which he thinks are not likely to recur. I understand that he has started dredging this morning. I shall be pleased to help you in any way I can.
