Dear Sirs
I beg to inform you that in consequence of an accident to the lock gates at Bristol Road Lock and the large amount of repair required to be done the Canal will be closed for about six weeks. I may further say that the work will be pushed on with the utmost dispatch, and the Canal opened for Traffic before the time given if it can possibly be done.
