Cainscross the 6th November 1777

We whose names are hereunto subscribed being Commissioners appointed and nominated in and by an Act of Parliament passed in the sixteenth year or the Reign of his Majesty King George the third intituled "an Act to amend an Act, passed in the third year of his late Majestys Reign, intituled an Act for making navigable the River Stroudwater, in the County of Gloucester, from the River Severn at or near Framiload, to Walbridge, near the town of Stroud in the same county and for giving other powers, for the purpose of making a navigation from Framiload to Walbridge aforesaid" being mett at the dwelling house of Samuel Clutterbuck at the sign of the Golden Cross at Cainscross in the parish of Randwick in the County of Gloucester, in pursuance of an advertisement in the Gloucester Journal of the 20th of October last, and an order made for that purpose at a General meeting of the Company of Proprietors at the George Inn in the Town of Stroud in the County of Gloucester aforesaid on the 2^d day of the said month of October, in order to put in Execution the powers and Authorities vested in us by virtue of the said Act, and having taken and Subscribed the Oath prescribed by the said Act before we have acted in the Execution of the said powers and Authorities Do come to the following Resolutions and Determinations touching the purchase money to be paid to the several Persons hereafter mentioned for the Lands intended to be Cutt or made use of for the purposes of the said navigation and touching certain bridges to be erected over the said intended canal or Navigation viz:-
The value of three several orchards of Ambross Redalls Esq. intended to be cut through called the upper Rack Close the new lease, and Ewens Orchard and Gabs Lease in the parish of Stonehouse in the County of Gloucester; We do ascertain and Determine to be One Hundred and five pounds per Acre free of all taxes rate and impositions whatsoever-- the value of a piece of arable land of the said Ambross Reddals intended to be cut thro, called Haywards Field in the parish of Stonehouse aforesaid, We do ascertain and determine to be Thirty five pounds per Acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever. --
The value of an Orchard and Rack Hill of Mr Halliday Phillip's intended to be cut thro situate in the said parish of Stonehouse, we do ascertain and determine to be Eighty seven pounds & Ten shillings per Acre free of all taxes rates & impositions whatsoever. --
The value of a piece of meadow of the executors of John Mossley deceased situate in the said parish of Stonehouse (intended to be cut thro) we do ascertain to be Fifty two pounds & Ten shillings per acre, also a piece of meadow intended to be cut thro situate at Cainscross in the parish of Randwick in the said County of Gloucester; We do ascertain and determine to be Seventy pounds per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever. --
The value of two pieces of pasture land of John Andrews Esq. intended to be cut thro, situate in the parishes of Stonehouse and Randwick aforesaid, We do ascertain and determine to be Eighty Seven Pounds & Ten Shillings per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever. --
The value of a piece of arable land of Mr Richard Stephens intended to be cut thro situate in the parish of Randwick aforesaid, we do ascertain & determine to be Forty three pounds and fifteen shillings per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever, also the value of an orchard of Mr Richard Stephens intended to be cut thro situate in the parish of Randwick aforesaid, we do ascertain & determine to be One hundred & five pounds per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever. --
The value of Mr Daniel Chances orchard let to Mr Wm. Hopkins as tennant, also an orchard called Aldershill let to Mr Willm Jennings as a tennant, also a meadow called the Moors let to Mr Thomas Turner as tennant, also a meadow let to Mr John Hawker as Tennant situate in the parish of Stonehouse (intended to be cut thro) we do ascertain & determine to be Seventy pounds per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever. --
The value of an orchard of this Daniel Chance intended to be cut thro called Cainscross hill in the parish of Stonehouse we do ascertain t & determine to be One hundred & eighty six pounds thirteen shillings and four pence per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever. --
The value of a piece of meadow land of the said Daniel Chance intended to be cut thro called Dedmarlin situate in the parish of Stroud in the county of Gloucester, we do ascertain & determine to be Eighty seven pounds and ten shillings per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever. --
The value of a piece of arable land of Mrs Ann James's intended to be cut thro situate in the parish of Stroud now in the possesion of Thomas Little as Tennant We do ascertain and determine to be Thirty five pounds per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever--
The value of a piece of pasture of the said Ann James intended to be cut thro situate in the said parish of Stroud now in the possesion of Wm Halliday as Tennant We do ascertain and determine to be Fifty two pounds and ten shillings per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever. --
The value of a piece of a piece of pasture land of Henry Wyatt Esquire intended to be cut thro, situate in the said parish of Stroud now in the possesion of John Mills as Tennant We do ascertain and determine to be Fifty two pounds and ten shillings per acre free of all taxes rates and impositions whatsoever. --
We do order that a substantial brick or stone bridge for horses carts and carriages shall be erected over the intended canal on the Turnpike Road leading from Cainscross to Dudbridge, and that the said bridge shall serve for a communication to the lands below the said canal belonging to Daniel Chance, and the executors of John Mossley decsd
We do order that a substantial brick or stone bridge be erected over the said intended canal on the road leading from The Turnpike Road at Ebley to the oile mill, and that this bridge shall serve for a communication to the lands below the said canal belonging to Mr Richard Stephens
We do order that a substantial brick or stone bridge shall be erected over the said intended canal in the most convenient place to serve for a communication to the lands below the canal belonging to the Corporation of the City of Gloucester, and Mr Thomas Ellen's piece of land called the Lawn. --
