Stroud 21st August 1779
We whose names are hereunto subscribed being Commissioners appointed and nominated in and by an Act of Parliament passed in the sixteenth year of the reign of His majesty King George the Third, Intituled "An Act to amend an Act passed in the third year of his late Majesty's reign intituled An Act for making navigable the River Stroudwater in the County of Gloucester from the River Severn at or near Framiload to Wallbridge near the Town of Stroud in the same county; and for giving other powers for the purpose of making a navigation from Framiload to Wallbridge" aforesaid being mett at the dwelling house of William Turner known by the George Inn in the town of Stroud aforesaid in pursuance of an advertisement in the Gloucester Journal of the 10th Instant and an order made for that purpose and signed by seven commissioners on the 6th of this instant in order to put in execution the powers and authorities vested in us by virtue of the said Act and having taken and subscribed the oath presented by the said powers an authorities do come to the following resolutions viz: We do order that the bridge now erected over the canal on the road leading from Gloucester to Bristol at a place near Wheatenhurst shall serve as a communication between all the land of Nathaniel Peach Esq on the lower side of the canal and that We do adjudge no other bridge to be necessary.
We do order and direct that a good and sufficient quick mound be made by the Company of Proprietors of the Navigation to fence the wharf taken by the said company from the land of the said Nathaniel Peach Esq from his other lands, and also that proper roads be made from the Turnpike Road to the said lands.
We do hereby adjourn this meeting to Thursday the 9th day of September next at nine o'clock int the morning at the George Inn in Stroud and we do order our clerk to cause notice of the same to be advertised on Monday the 30th of this instant August in the Gloucester Journal.
