Summary

No quorum.
Sperry Gyroscope Co. Ltd. Mr King, Newmarket could see nothing wrong with bridge. He could not remove the blockhouse which prevented use of Swing Pole and bridge swinging down canal as designed. He suggested that a pole be fixed on opposite side, making bridge swing up canal. Things might be allowed to remain as at present. No trade passing over canal. Blockhouse partly on canal property. No rent paid. Now used by Admiralty for Police Guard. No action to be taken at present.

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 20^th day of November 1946 @ 3 o clock pm
Present: W R S Bloxam, R J C Little.
There being only two Members of the Committee present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Sperry Gyroscope Co Ltd; Blockhouse and Swing Bridge
In accordance with the Minute of the last Meeting the Clerk had got in touch with Messrs King & Coy of Newmarket and reported a telephone conversation he had had with M^r King, He stated that he had been to the bridge, he could see nothing wrong with it, he could not undertake to remove the blockhouse which prevented the use of the Swing Pole and the bridge swinging down the Canal as designed He suggested that a pole be fixed on the opposite side making the bridge swing up the Canal He thought that things might be allowed to remain as at present seeing there is no trade passing over the Canal. The Clerk further reported that the blockhouse is partly on Canal property for which no rent had been paid. The blockhouse is now used by the Admiralty for a Police Guard The Committee decided to take no action at present

Reported a visit by the War Department Lands Officer of Bath after a telephone conversation with the Chairman the Officer promised a letter for the Committee in time for their next Meeting. No Letter received.
Cuckolds Brook Culvert M^r Redler
In accordance with Minute of last Meeting a letter settled by the Chairman had been sent to M^r Redler There had been no reply.
Whitminster: Water from the Canal, Mrs Best
A letter settled by the Chairman had been sent to Mrs Best to which no reply had been received.
Stroud Metal Box Coy Water supply at Dudbridge
The Clerk presented a letter & plan submitted by the Metal Company, The Chairman read a letter he had settled for the Clerk to send to the Metal Company.
Framilode Swing Bridge Repair
The Clerk reported the bridge as badly needing repair. He was instructed to obtain the necessary material and have the repairs carried out.
Messrs Marling & Evans Use of Towing path next Ebley Mills
The Chairman read a letter from Messrs Marling & Evans. After discussion the Committee decided to suggest renewal of arrangement made in 1936 at the same rent viz £2 10s 0d a quarter. The Chairman undertook to settle a letter for the Clerk to send to Messrs Marling.
Stonehouse Wharf tenancy Admiralty
Reported that the Admiralty had released the Wharf from requisition as from the 26^th October 1946.
