Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 28^th day of January 1948 @ 3 o'clock pm
Present R J C Little.
There being only one Member of the Committee present there was no quorum but there being some matters requiring immediate attention it was decided to proceed with them subject to confirmation by the next Committee.
Canal Bridges Saul and Walk Bridge
Reported that in accordance with Minute of last Meeting a letter had been sent to the County Surveyor. No reply had been received.
Midland Scottish Railway C^oy, Proposed purchase of land at Stonehouse
The Chairman read a letter from the Agent for the Railway Company stating that he proposed to take his his Headquarters instructions on the matter.
Tithe Act 1946, Apportionment of Annuities Bisley & Stroud
Reported a Circular from Messrs Grenville-Haygate & C^oy re No 1047 as per Schedule & Map placed on deposit at the Council Office at Stroud. The Navigations Lock houses and garden ground at Dudbridge are in this number, the tithe being nine pence per year redeemable at once. The Committee directed that the tithe be redeemed voluntarily, and the Clerk was instructed to notify Messrs Grenville-Heygate accordingly.
Wharfhouse at Stonehouse, M^r Palmer tenant
Reported that M^r Palmer was still in arrears with his rent £6 13s 4d.
Canal, Dudbridge Lockkeeper
Lockkeeper Wiggall had stated that his intention to give up the post of Lockkeeper at Dudbridge. The Clerk was instructed to see Wiggall's son who had applied for the post.
