Gentlemen
Altho' we Consider ourselves Justly entitled to the terms Contained in our letter of yesterday, Still however as you appear So averse to Accept them, rather than a Scheme we are So desirous of promoting Should be given up thro' any over tenacesiosness of our, We will venture to Meet you half way and accept the Two Shilling and Ninepence upon cutting your first Lock and you binding yourselves to Charge Ninepence and not less for any distance on Coal only. We wish you to Consider this an Amendment to our last proposal meaning to Confine ourselves to One Shilling on Coal landed above Brimscombe Mill called Peaches Mill.
We desire you would Communicate this letter to your Committee that it may be publickly know what our proposals are and on what principle we make them.
