{Josh Grazebrook ? whether the orders of the hows was complied with}
To the Honorable the Commons of Great Britain in Parliament assembled
The humble Petition of the several Persons whose Names are hereunto set, being Proprietors of Shares of Money subscribed, and Undertakers, for making navigable the River Stroudwater in the County of Gloucester, from the River Severn at or near Framiload to Wallbridge near the Town of Stroud:
Sheweth
{Benjn Grazebrook} {Mr Yeoman} {Josh Grazebrook}
That an Act was passed in the 3d year of King George the 2d for making the said River navigable from Framiload to Stroud.
That some part of the Works directed by the said Act to be don have been begun, and the Sum of Four Thousand Pounds or thereabouts expended therein; but it appears to your Petitioners that the making of the said Navigation in the manner prescribed by the said Act will be attended with so many difficulties & be liable to so many Obstructions as to render the same insufficient to answer the good purposes intended thereby.
{Mr Yeoman} [Mr Cambridge & Wm Caple}
That your Petitioners humbly apprehend, if Power was given to make navigable Cuts or Canals from some parts of the said River to other parts thereof, as described in the Plan hereunto annexed and other necessary Amendments were made to the said Act, the whole Navigation might be easily executed so as to be very advantageos to the Trade Manufacturers and Commerce of the Country & of public Utility.
Your Petitioners therefore humbly pray that leave may be give to bring in a Bill for the purposes aforesaid under such Regulations and Restrictions as to theis Honble Houe shall seem meet.
