Messrs Waring Brothers
Augt 21st 1847
Gentlemen
I presented your letter of the 18th Inst with your account to the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation on Thursday last the 19th Inst and they have desired me to inform you that they are not at present satisfied that the crane is equal to the work it is intended to perform; but as soon as the time is expired within which you requested it should not be tested to its full weight, a trial will be made in the presence of an Engineer of which you shall have due notice that you may be enabled to attend and the consideration of your Account will be deferred until that has taken place.
