Summary

Mr Winchombe to arrange for Mr White to print 100 copies of Acts of George 2 & 3 with index annexed.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 4^th Day of July 1776
Present: Joseph Wathen, James Winchcombe, Robert Ellis, Thomas Baylis, Freame Arundell, Benjamin Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Grazebrook Reported that he had mentioned the proposal of the Committee to M^r Bough to Supply the Stone and laying, but he had not come to any agreement with him, as he desired time to consider of it.
M^r Grazebrook Reported that he had Contracted with M^r Davis for 100,000 Bricks at 11/6 per Thousand in the place.
Mess^rs Ellis and Grazebrook Reported that they have been at Birmingham, and Sundry other places and made the Strictest enquiry relative to the Characters and Abilities of M^r Wright and M^r Lingard, That they had in consequence of their enquiry agreed with M^r Edmund Lingard to give him two Guineas per Week for Six or Eight Weeks to Survey and direct the Navigation and that if his Conduct was approv'd, the Committee would accept his approval for he further progress of the work on his Terms (Viz) to Pay him £300 for Surveying the whole.
Ordered a Bill to be Drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of £500.
M^r Grazebrook Reported that he has had a Conference with M^r King respecting the making of the Drains, and that M^r King promised his endeavours to get the Inhabitants of the Parishes of Frethern and Saul to Sign an agreement for that purpose.
Ordered That M^r Winchcombe be desired to Sent the Acts of Gei: 2^d and 3^d with the Index to M^r George White and to desire to get one hundred of the said Acts printed with the Index annexed when Corrected.
Ordered That M^r Grazebrook do Pay to W^m Dutton the further Sum of two Guineas for his Expences and Attendance in London, etc.
Ordered that M^r Grazebrook do Pay M^r Hall his Bill for Halling Timber and measuring Land of M^r Clutterbucks amounting to £11..13..6.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Tuesday the 16^th Instant at four of the Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
