Summary

Mr Grazebrook to contract with John Pashley for making a centre for the bridge at the tail of the lock.
Mr Lingard asked to set men to raise as much limestone as possible out of the canal.
Anthony Keck that plans for all locks, bridges and aqueducts be prepared, and that Bills of Scantlings for all gates and other timbers be published in the Gloucester Journal.
Mr Lingard to set out for the North to induce workers to come to work on the canal.
John Priddey to be paid £76 for his work on canal.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 25^th Day of July 1776
Present: Joseph Wathen, Anthony Keck, Freame Arundell, Thomas Baylis, John Hollings, Benjamin Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Grazebrook Reported that M^r Hall on Wednesday Morning the 17^th Instant Accepted of the money that was offered him by the Committee, and that he Paid him the Sum proposed, and took his receipt in full.
Ordered That M^r Grazebrook do Contract with John Pashley for making a Center for the Bridge for the Tail of the Lock on the best Terms he can.
Read a Letter from M^r W^m Wright requesting a conclusive answer from the Committee respecting his being employed in the Navigation.
Ordered Tha M^r B: Grazebrook do write him for answer that his proposals have been considered, but that his Terms cannot be comply'd with.
M^r Lingard attended the Committee and reported that the water is drawn don the Canal, and that as soon as it is properly dry'd he will give orders to have it deepned to Six feet.
Ordered That M^r Lingard do sett some Men to work imediately to raise all the Lime Stone out of the Canal that can be gott.
M^r Keck recommended that Plans, Elevations and Sections for the Locks, Bridges, and Aqueducts be given in to the Committee for their Government, and that as soon as the Bill of Scantlings for the Gates and other Timbers can be ascertained, that an Advertisment be inserted in the Glocester Journal for Supplying the same according to the Dimentions to be given.
Ordered That for the Expediting the Navigation, M^r Lingard do imediately sett out for the North, to treat with some more Persons to come and undertake the cutting.
Ordered that M^r Keck be desired to write to M^r George for Six Deal Baulks and a Hundred and a half of two Inch Red Deal planks, the Invoice to be sent to M^r B: Grazebrook.
Ordered M^r John Priddey to be paid the Sum of Seventy Six pounds in full for all his demands on the Navigation Account.
Ordered a Bill to be Drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of £200.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 9^th Day of August next at 10 of the Clock in the forenoon at the New Inn at Framiload.
