Summary

Mr Lingard to inspect Mr Wathen’s rack of hay at Ebley and if properly thatched to buy it for £30 for 12 tons.
15 parcels of land owned by company, which make 15 acres, 3 roods and 35 perch, to be let by next Lady Day.
Mr Lingard to have earth moved to the banks in Saul Field for raising the banks by Messrs Perry and Gleaves and if they neglect properly finishing them and making good the puddling in Pool Field - to stop their money.
Mr Pashley to immediately finish cloughs at Wheatenhurst lock.
Land to be purchased up to road to Bridgend.
Mr Beswick’s price for cutting accepted with abatement for puddling the banks.
A barge load of stone is to be weighed to ascertain the quantity brought by each vessel.
Mr Collins to pay 3d a ton wharfage for every ton landed that stays at the wharf longer than 24 hrs.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 20^th Day of February 1777
Present: James Winchcombe, Durley Wintle, Joseph Wathen, John Hollings, Thomas Baylis, Freame Arundell, Robert Ellis, Richard Bigland.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Lingard says he hath been prevented in viewing M^r Davis's Timber by the Snow.
Ordered that M^r Lingard do Survey M^r Wathens Rick of Hay at Ebley and if properly thatch'd and appears to him to be Twelve Tons and well made, to Purchase it at Thirty pounds, provided the Company have Liberty to Leave it there till our Team can eat it.
M^r Lingard recommends a Horse of Farmer Kersey's and hath Commission to purchase it at fourteen Guineas.
M^r Lingard produced the Measure for the first fifteen Parcells of Land belonging to the Company, and proves it to be 15 Acres, 3 Roods, and 35 Perch, and hath Orders to let the several Pieces at Lady Day next, but before any Engagement, to give in their several Values.
Ordered that M^r Lingard do imediately have Earth convey'd to the Banks in Saul field, for raising the Banks by Mess^rs Perry and Gleaves, and if they Neglect properly finishing them and making good the puddling in Pool field, to Stop their money.
Ordered that the Particulars of the Coals left at M^r Kings be made out and delivered at our next Meeting, mentioning how they have been disposed of.
Ordered that M^r Lingard do set M^r Gleaves, or any other Person that is out first, on any part of the work that is not finished, after his Engagements are Completed.
Ordered that M^r Pashley do immediately finish the Cloughs of Wheatenhurst Locks ~~ the Stones to be brought next Spring.
Ordered that Application be made immediately to the Several Landholders for the Land that the Line of our Navigation go thro' up to the Road that Lead to Bridgend.
Agree'd with M^r Beswick for Cutting our Navigation at the prices he hath given in, except the Abatement of 2^d per Yard in Puddling the Banks, so that he now undertakes it at 6^d per Yard Cube ~~ an Article to be drawn by M^r Colborne.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that our Clerk do write to George Oakes to bring down a Barge Load of Oak Timber of such sizes as M^r Pashley shall direct, at the price he hath given in, delivered as soon as possible.
Ordered that a Barge Load of Stones be Weigh'd to ascertain the Quantity brought by each Vessell.
Ordered that M^r Collins do pay 3^d per Ton Wharfage for every Ton he Lands, that continues on the Wharf longer than 24 hours.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 6^th Day of March next at four of the Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
