At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 1^st day of October 1778
Present: James Winchcombe, Thomas White, Joseph Wathen, John Allaway, John Hollings, Thomas Baylis, Freame Arundell, Benjamin Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Martins Damages not Yett Settled, Ordered that it be Settled the first opportunity.
The foundations at Ryeford are preparing.
Agreed not to take any more land of M^rs Ball than what is in the Canal and Towing path, except a piece at the Corner of Burryfield next to Stonehouse Cross the Quantity of two Rood and thirty size perch for a Wharf. ~~ Ordered that our Clerk do give M^r Lane the measure of the said Lands, and likewise to describe every piece particularly.
Ordered that M^r B: Grazebrook do waite on the Occupiers of the Arable Land in Haywards field adjoining to the Canal, to treat with them for the same for one Year for a Temporary Wharf.
Ordered that M^r B: Grazebrook do give an Account at the next Meeting of the Sum of Money tendered to M^rs Ball for her Land.
Ordered that no Day Men be employed at Wages exceeding on Shilling and Sixpence per Day.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that M^r B: Grazebrook do have the Beds of the Hollow Quoind fresh work'd before they are laid, and likewise to have the Coping Stones (in future) wider in the Bed.
Ordered that M^r Grazebrook do have a Stone or post fix'd at the Boundary of the corner piece of Land late M^r James's at Easton.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 8^th Instant at Ten o Clock in the Morning at the George Inn in Stroud.
