Summary

Sam Collins has paid the wharfage for his coals.
Benjamin Grazebrook has seen Mr Ellis James who refuses to come to a decision regarding the damage.
Mr James’ banks be immediately levelled and sowed with proper seeds according to the directions given and that Mr Allaway be requested to see that the proper mode of doing it be adopted.
A recess is to be made on the side of the canal at Lodgemore for the Company boat to lie in.
Two of the floodgates at Ebley Mill pond are to be removed nearer the mill and the other three to be fixed on the side of the old weir.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 22^d of April 1779
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, John Hollings, Richard Bigland, James Dallaway, Thomas White, John Allaway, Benjamin Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Sam^l Collins has paid the Wharfage for his Coals Landed on the Wharf at Bristol Road.
M^r B: Grazebrook Reported that he has waited on M^r James relative to Settling the Damages of his Banks, but he refuses coming into any decisive measure for settling the same.
Our Clerk Reported that he has wrote to M^r Baxter, but have not yet Rece'd any answer.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Two Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that M^r B: Grazebrook do inform the Rev^d M^r Davis that we are ready to purchase the fee of what Land is covered with water by stanking up the same at Chippenhams Platt.
Ordered that M^r James's Banks be imediately Levell'd and Sow'd with proper Seeds, according to the directions given by M^r Jn^o Smith, and that M^r Allaway be requested to See that the proper Mode of doing it is adopted.
Ordered that M^r B: Grazebrook do waite on Tho^s Ellis Esq^r to treat with him for the purchase of a Bitt of Land for a Road to M^r Turners Meadow.
Ordered that a Recess be made on the side of the Canal at Lodgmore for the Companys Boat to lye in.
Ordered that two of the Flood Gates at Ebley Mill Pond be removed nearer the Mill, and the other three to be fix'd on the side of the old Wear.
Oredered that M^r Baylis be desired to inform himself of what Proportion of the Estates in the Parish of Painswick are Rated to the Land Tax.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 6^th of May next at Five o Clock in the afternoon at the George in Stroud.
