Summary

Benjamin Grazebrook met with Mr Hill and made him an offer of 5 guineas for fencing the road over his bridge, which he refused. The surplus posts and rails at Bristol Road to be immediately brought and put up to fence the road over the bridge.
A quick mound is to be planted around Bristol Road wharf, and wherever else necessary.
No coals be landed at the head of the canal on that side next to the warehouse.
Agreed that a letter be written to Mr Keck desiring him to take immediate action at Ryeford Double Lock to prevent future consequences.
Clerk to write to solicitors to know the expenses of the late trial with Mr Phillips.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 20^th of January 1780
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, James Winchcombe, Fream Arundell, John Hollings, John Allaway, James Dallaway, Ben^m Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
The Committee have not Yet Staked out the Land of M^r Butchers.
M^r Phillips attended, but nothing decicive was done.
M^r B: Grazebrook Reported that he has waited on M^r Hall and made him an Offer of Five Guineas for fencing the Road over his Bridge, which Offer M^r Hill refused. Ordered that the Surplus Posts and Railes at Bristol Road be immediately brought and put up, to fence the Road over the said Bridge.
Our Clerk Reported that he has wrote to Mess^rs Lane & Jepson relative to M^r Baxters Oak Tree, but has not rece'd any answer.
Our Clerk Reported that he has wrote to M^r Christopher Gardner relative to the Water being stank'd on M^rs Balls Land, but has not yett Rece'd any answer.
The Wharf at Bristol Road is Contracted agreeable to the Order of last Meeting. Ordered that a Quick Mound be immediately Planted around the said Wharf, and likewise in every other Place where the same shall be necessary.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Three Hundred Pounds.
Ordered that no Coals be Landed above the Head of the Canal on that side next the Warehouse.
Agree'd that a Letter be wrote to M^r A: Keck and Signed by this Committee, desiring him to take into immediate Consideration the Double Lock and prevent future Consequences; and that a Copy of the said Letter be filed.
Ordered that our Clerk do write to Mess^rs Lane & Jepson to know what expense We are to be at for the late Tryal with M^r Phillips.
Ordered that our Clerk do Execute the Deed of Conveyance to M^r Remington, by Affixing the Seal of the Company to the same.
Ordered that our Clerk do apply to Mess^rs Cook & Hawkere to desire they will attend the next Meeting, in order to settle for their Land and Damages.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Thursday the 3^d of February next at four o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
