At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 5^th of October 1780
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, William Knight, Thomas White, John Hollings, Richard Bigland, Fream Arundell, Ben^m Grazebrook, Nathaniel Jones.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the Order relative to M^r Butchers Land.
Continued the Order relative to the Wall for enclosing the Wharf at Wallbridge.
M^r Jepson has this Evening wrote to M^r Chance agreeable to the Instructions of the last Meeting.
M^r Halliday hath been waited on agreeable to the Orders of the last Meeting, Who readily agrees to settle the Road through his Land and proposes waiting on the Committee for that purpose at some future Meeting.
The Refferees Nominated and appointed to settle M^r Balls Business have this Day mett for that purpose and have ascertained and Determined the whole of his Damages at £44..5..9.
Our Clerk Reported that M^r Pettat hath informed him of the recovery of Doctor Sandford, in consequence of which he hath sent the Deeds to him in order for him to execute the same.
Agreed with George Lodge to Supperintend the Lock keepers and keep a Journal of their work, his Wages to Commence on Monday next at 12^s per week.
Ordered that our Clerk do call on M^r Clutterbuck to know by what Authority he hath opened a Road from his Land to the Wharf. And that we expect he will make us satisfaction for the same.
Ordered a Bill to be drawn on the Treasurer for the Sum of Two hundred and Fifty Pounds.
Adjourned this Meeting to Tuesday the 24^th Instant at four o'clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
