Money received for tonnage from the 12 April, £668 18s 3d, to be used to pay off debts.
Nothing has been done regarding the survey of the Double Lock. A report is to be made at the next General Meeting.
Clay lying on the North side of the canal at Wallbridge to be sold to Thomas Bernard for making bricks. Clay to be removed and ground levelled by Lady Day 1784.
The survey of the link between the Severn and Thames by way of the Stroud Canal cost £29 19s 7d. A further £21 is to be made available to make a more accurate survey.
A bounty of 1s per ton be paid for all coals taken from Wallbridge and carried any distance beyond the turnpike in Woofuldeane Bottom.
Mr Edward Keene to rent land on the north side of the canal at Dudbridge for 3 years at £6 per annum exclusive of landing coals.
Future general meeting to be held on the second Tuesday in April and October.
At a General half yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held this 11^th Day of October 1781 at the George Inn in Stroud

The Minutes of the last Meeting were Read and Confirm'd.
The several Books and Accounts were produced respecting the affairs of the Company (as directed by the Act of Parliament) and Examined and Confirm'd.
Ordered that the Money Reced for Tonnage from the 12^th of April last to this day amounting to the Sum of Six hundred and Sixty Eight Eighteen Shillings and three pence be paid into the Treasurers hands and applied towards the payment of the respective Debts.
The Committee thinking it the Interest of the Company have deferr'd putting into execution the Order of the last General Meeting relative to letting a Piece of Land at Dudbridge for a term of years, Resolved that the said Land be lett for any term not exceeding three years at the discretion of the Committee.
Nothing having been done in consequence of an Order of the last General Meeting relative to Surveying the Double Lock, Resolved that the said Order be continued and that a Report be made of the same at the next General Meeting.
Agree'd to Sell the Clay lying on the North side of the Canal at Wallbridge to M^r Thomas Barnard for making bricks, etc, for the Sum of Fifteen Pounds the said M^r Barnard to Levell and clear the Ground of the said Clay on or before Lady day 1784. And in case he shall not clear the same by the above time to pay the further Sum of Three Pounds for the said Land Provided that the same all be cleared and put in proper Condition on or before Lady day 1785. An Article to be drawn for the above purpose.
In pursuance of an Order of the last General Meeting a Survey hath been made for a Junction with the Thames and Severn by way of the Stroud Canal, the expense attending to the same amounts to the sum of £29:19:7 and the Report being favorable the further Sum of £21 is agreed to be paid towards a more accurate Survey and Plan of the same. We do hereby approve of such measures and Confirm the same.
Agree'd to lett the Land adjoining to the Double Lock to M^r James Hogg for two Guineas for the present year ending Lady Day next and three Guineas per Annum for the said Land for the next three years afterwards being an agreement made by Mess^rs Battersby & Hayes with the said M^r Hogg.
Ordered that a Bounty of One Shilling per Ton be paid by our Clerk for all Coals taken from Wallbridge and carried any distance beyond the Turnpike in Woofuldeane Bottom.
Confirm'd the Order made by the Committee the 9^th of August last for letting the Island at Easton to M^r Bigland for Seven Years at Ten Shillings per Annum.
Agee'd to lett M^r Edward Keene the whole of the Land on the North side of the Canal at Dudbridge for three years from Lady day next at the Rent of Six Pounds per Annum exclusive of Landing Coals, an agreement to be drawn for that purpose.
M^r W^m Clutterbuck attended this Meeting and produced his Account for Land and Damages. The Ballance due to him appears to be £31:4. Ordered that the same be paid when in cash and a proper discharge taken for the same.
Resolved that the future General Meetings be held, One on the Second Tuesday in April, and the other on the Second Tuesday in October.
