Summary

Mr Franklin reported on the state of Double Lock.
James Barns to be lock keeper at Bristol Road at 8s per week, 1s a week is to be retained (until 40s) and paid to him when he is discharged and quits the house without any trouble. The same method to be adopted for the other lock keeper, Richard Evans.

At a Meeting of the Committee held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Tuesday the 26^th of February 1782
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas White, John Hollings, Ben^m Grazebrooke, John Allaway, Thomas Baylis.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Turner has attended the Committee and fix'd the Land Tax on Little Harris Acre at 7^s 8½^d per Annum when the Land Tax is at four Shillings in the Pound. Ordered that the Taxes (up to Lady day last) be paid to M^r Turnere. Also one years Interest on money due to George Augustus Selwyn Esq^r for Land amounting to £12..19..10½ be paid him up to the same time. Likewise that M^r Turner be pasi one Pound Ten Shillings for making good his Land where the Old Brooks were fill'd up, which was Damages omitted in a former Account.
M^r Frankling attended and Reported the present state of the Double Lock. Ordered that said Report be filed. ~~ Ordered that M^r Franklins Bill for building the Brewhouse at Wallbridge, and the repair of the Towpath Wall at West Field, be discharged.
Rece'd a Letter from M^r Bigland, informing us that nothing has been done relative to M^r Knights Business, owing to M^r Jepson being from home; but our Clerk hath this day waited on M^r Lane on the Business, and M^r Lane advised to have the state of the Case drawn up and sent to him, and that M^r Jepson will waite on M^r Knight the begining of next week.
Our Clerk Reported that R^d Evans has paid 10/6 as settled per Mess^rs Hollings, Dallaway & Grazebrook and in consequence of which is taken on again into his former employ.
Agree'd with James Barns to be Lock keeper at Bristol Road at the Wages of 9^s per Week, out of which he is to leave a deposit of 1^s per Week till it amounts to forty Shillings which is to be paid him when he is discharged on his quitting the House without any trouble. Also that the same method be adoped with Ric^d Evans the other Lock keeper.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Monday the 9^th April next at five o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
