Mr Knight to be given notice to quit land as best method of settlement.
Commissioners of the Road given notice that water running down road from Cainscross must not be allowed to run over lock wall into lock but be turned into canal below bridge.
Culvert to be made to take water from weir at Chippenham Platt, to prevent road being injured.
At a Meeting of the Committee held by adjournment at the George Inn at Stroud on Thursday the 8^th of April 1784
Present: Joseph Wathen, Thomas Baylis, John Hollings, Nathaniel Jones, Fream Arundell, Ben^n Grazebrook.

M^r James's Business is not yet settled.
Continued the Order for a seizer to be made on the Tennants who are in arrear the first time any Stock shall be found on the Premises.
Defferr'd the Consideration of Mess^rs Lane & Jepsons Accounts to a future Meeting.
Our Clerk Reported that he had waited on Mess^rs Lane & Jepson and consulted with them on the necessary mode of proceeding in M^r Knights Business, when they advised that Notice should be given M^r Knight to quit the Land in his possession (which they promised to do) as the best method of brining it to a settlement.
Ordered that the Commissioners of the Road have Notice given them that the water running down the Road from Cainscross must not be suffered to run over the lock wall into the Lock, but be turn'd into the Canal below the Bridge.
Ordered that a Culvert be made to take the Water from the Wear at Chippenham Platt, to prevent the Road from being injured.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Tuesday the 13^th Instant at Eleven O'Clock in the forenoon at the George Inn at Stroud.
