Mr Keck attended meeting. Two surveyors to be appointed, one by Committee, one by Mr Keck to survey the Double Lock. Questions to be asked whether principal cause of failure was owing to badness of bricks, badness of execution of work, or what cause.
Clerk to request Mr Clowes to survey Double Lock on day to be fixed.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held by Adjournment at the George Inn in Stroud on Friday the thirteenth day of February 1789
Present: N Winchcombe, Jn^o Hollings, Jos Harford, Jn^o Colborne, W^m Battersby, Rich^d Bigland, Jn^o Allaway.

M^r Keck having attended this Meeting it was agreed that two Surveyors should be appointed (one by the Committee & the other by M^r Keck) to Survey the Double Lock & that the following Questions should be put to them Viz:
Whether the principal cause of the failure is owing to the badness of the Bricks, the badness of the execution of the work or to what causes.
Ordered that our Clerk do write to M^r Clews requesting him to come on the part of the Committee & Survey the said Lock on a Day to be fixed for that purpose of which he shall have timely Notice.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Monday the thirteenth Day of April 1789 at five o Clock at the George Inn in Stroud.
