Ann Wathen claimed shares nos.82,83, will of William Wathen. After her decease shares to go to her nephews Rev William Ellis and Samuel Ellis.
Mary Cambridge claimed shares nos.144,145, will of John Cambridge.
Piece next to Easton Workhouse called the Island for £1 10s, and piece at West Field limekiln for 10s, to be let to Thomas Banks.
Mr Clowes to be paid his bill, and Mr Keck sent account of cost of repairs requesting payment.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Monday the 4^th Jan^y 1790
Present: Nathaniel Winchcombe, John Hollings, Benj^n Grazebrook, John Colborne, Joseph Grazebrook, John Allaway.
Ordered that our Clerk do compare the Checks with the Treasurer at the Bank the first Tuesday in every Month.
Ann Wathen of Stroud in the County of Glocester Widow Attended and made out her Claim to the Interest arising from Two Shares No 82 & 83 in the Stroudwater Navigation late the Property of WIlliam Wathen late of Stroud aforesaid Clothier deceased by producing the Probat of his Will, bearing Date the 4^th day of April 1788 in hereby it appears that the Interest of the said two Shares are given to the said Ann Wathen for and during the Term of her Natural Life and after her decease the said Shares are given to his Nephews the Rev^d W^m Ellis Clerk and Sam^l Ellis or to the Survivor of them, as in the said Will is mentioned, and did constitute and appoint the said Ann Wathen Sole Executrix, as appears by the Probat of the said Will proved in the Perogagtive Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury by the said Ann Wathen, and the Claim of the said Ann Wathen to the Interest thereof during her Life only is hereby allowed.
Mary Cambridge of Brimscombe in the Parish of Minchinhampton in the County of Glocester Spinster Daughter of Jn^o Cambridge late of the same Place Clothier deceased, attended and made out her Claim to two Shares in the Stroudwater Navigation No 144 & 145 late the Property of the said Jn^o Cambridge by producing the Probate of his Will bearing Date the 18^h Day of July 1789 and proved by her as one of the Executrix in the Perogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury 12^th Nov^r 1789 wherby it appears that the said two Shares are devised to the said Mary Cambridge and her Claim is hereby admitted accordingly.
Agreed to let the following lands to Tho^s Banks from Lady day next. Piece nest to Easton Workhouse called the Island £1..10. Piece at West Field Lime Kiln subject to the Road £10.
Ordered that M^r Clews be paid his Bill for attending on the Double Lock.
Ordered that our Clerk do wait on M^r Keck with the Account for the Repair of the Double Lock as settled with M^r Clews, and request Payment of the same.
The Bond not being ready for execution per M^r Hole, Ordered that he be desired to meet Mess^rs Hollings & Grazebrooks to settle an Agreement with him for selling Coals and to execute the Bond.
Adjourned this Meeting to Monday the 12^th of April next at two o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
