Inspection on Company Barge.
Mr Sam Baylis to continue as Second Clerk till July or following Committee Meeting. Repairs to be made: brick work under coping at Froomhall Bridge, at upper lock at Dudbridge and at Double lock; gates at Dudbridge Wharf to be made more secure; the bridge at Chippenham Platt; the lock below Dudbridge; Moor Street Bridge and such lock gates as want pitching.
Lower gates of lock at Framilode to be completely repaired.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held on board the Companys Barge of Tuesday the 7^th of June 1796
Present: Rev^d W^m Ellis, Sam^l Wathen, Nath^l Wathen, John Allaway, Rowles Scudamore, Benj^n Grazebrook, Sam^l Smith, Jos^h Grazebrook.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the order respecting the waste water at Mr Hoggs, also for a Pair of Gates at Dudbridge Wharf.
Ordered that M^r Sam^l Baylis be continued in the Office of second Clerk to the … day of July or until the next Committee Meeting after that day, upon the same Conditions as those inserted in the Order of 18^th of April last.
The several Works on the line of the Canal being inspected, Ordered that the following repairs be set about as soon as possible, Viz:
The brick work under the Coaing at Froomhall Bridge, also the brick work at the upper Lock at Dudbidge.
The Gates at Dudbridge Wharf to be made more secure.
The Brick work at the Double Lock to be repaired.
The Bridge at Chip^s Platt. The Lock below D^o, also Moor street Bridge, and such of the Lock Gates as want pitching.
Ordered that the lower Gates of the Lock at Framiload be compleatly repaired.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Tuesday the 2^d of August next at 3 o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
