At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Tuesday the 7^th March 1797
Present: Sam^l Wathen, Jos^h Grazebrooke, Rich^d Bigland, Rowles Scudamore, Benj^n Grazebrooke.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Elllis & M^r Grazebrooke reported that they has examined the banks of M^r Hoggs and that they appear to be repaired in a satisfactory manner, also that M^r Hogg expressed himself willing to make any further alterations which the Committee may judge necessary.
Our Clerk reported that Jn^o Simms had refused to raise the bank of the Canal at Framiload to its former level. Ordered that our Clerk do immediatly give him notice that if any damage be incurred to the Canal, in consequence of his having lowered the bank, that the Company will take measures to recover the penalties which their Act of Parliament directs.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Monday the 10^th of April next at 3 o'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
