Company's ice boat and boat conveying material on canal to be graved.
Mr Clissold's proposal for new weir above culvert from his mill pond to canal. Also management of present feeding weirs should be entrusted to his servants. Referred to General Meeting. He should consult with mill holders below him.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Tuesday the 18^th of Sep^r 1798
Present: J I Wathen, Jos^h Grazebrooke, Rev^d W Ellis, Jn^o Allaway, Sam^l Wathen, Rowles Scudamore, Nath^l Wathen, Ew^d Wood, Benj^n Grazebrooke, Nath^l Jones.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the Order respecting the Boat House and the Shed at Tho^s Lewis's House.
M^r Jos^h Grazebrooke attended on behalf of the Rev^d Anthony Keck of King Stanley and made out his Claim to one Share N^o 140 in the Stroudwater Navigation late the Property of his Father Anthony Keck of King Stanley Architect deceased by producing the Probate of the Will of his said Father, bearing date the 17^th of July 1795 and duly proved in the Perogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury the 10^th of Feb 1798 whereby it appears that the said Anthony Keck is sole Executor of the said Will, and his Claim is hereby admitted.
Ordered that the Companys Ice Boat and the other Boat used in Conveying Materials on the Canal be graved as soon as possible.
M^r Clissold attended upon the Subject of the Supply of Water at Ebley Mill. He submitted to the Committee a proposal for erecting a new Wear above the Culvert communicating from his Mill Pond with the Canal and also a proposal that the management of the present Feeding Wear should be intrusted to his Servants. The Committee conferred very fully with M^r Clissold, but referred him to the ensuing General Meeting for a farther Statement of his Propositions, and the ultimate determination thereof, recommending him in the meantime to consult with the Mill holders below him upon the Subject of his propositions.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Monday the 8^th of October next at 3 o Clock in the afternoon at the Committee Room at Walbridge.
