At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Tuesday the 31^st of Dec^r 1799
Present: Sam^l Wathen, Rev^e W^m Ellis, Jn^o Allaway, Rev^d J Colborne, Jos^h Grazebrooke, J I Wathen, Ew^d Wood, Benj^n Grazebrooke, Nath^l Jones.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
M^r Dan^l Baylis attended and made out his Claim to one Share N^o 73 in the Stroudwater Navigation late the Property of his Father Tho^s Baylis of New Mills deceased by producing the Probate of the Will of his said Father bearing Date the 8^th of Jan^y 1789 and duly proved in the Perogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury 19^th Nov^r 1799 whereby it appears that the said Daniel Baylis is one of the Executors of the said Will. By the said Probate, Power is reserved to Nathaniel Winchcombe Esq^r, M^r Richard Chandler and M^r Jn^o Cooper to grant administration to them. The Claim of the said Daniel Baylis is hereby allowed.
Ordered that a Warehouse be erected upon the Bristol Road Wharf, Sixteen feet by Twelve side Walls 8 Feet high single Brick. M^r Grazebrook Sen^r will give directions as to the particular spot were the building shall be placed.
It is Ordered that it shall be permitted to all Vessells to Navigate the Canal going downwards upon the following Sundays, Viz: the 5^th, 19^th & 26^th Days of January; the 9^th & 16^th days of Februar; the 2^nd, 9^th 23^rd days of March; the 6^th, 13^th & 27^th days of April; the 11^th, 18^th & 25^th days of May; the 8^th & 22^nd days of June, the 6^th & 20^th days of July; the 3^rd, 17^th 24^th days of Aug^t; the 7^th, 14^th days of September; the 5^th & 19^th days of October; the 2^nd, 16^th & 30^th Nov^r; the 14^th & 28^th of Dec^r to the hours of ten in the forenoon, and after the hour of 4 o'Clock in the afternoon.
Ordered that our Clerk do apply to Mess^rs Whitcombe & Griffiths to send their Bills and to deliver up all Deeds, Papers, and Writings, belonging to the Company.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Tuesday the 11^th of Feb^y next at 3 o'Clock in the afternoon at the Committee room at Walbridge.
