At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Tuesday the 11^th of Feb^y 1800
Present: Rev^d W^m Ellis, Jn^o Allaway, Rev^d Jos^h Grazebrooke, Nath^l Wathen, Rowles Scudamore, Sam^l Wathen, Ew^d Wood.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the Order respecting the Warehouse at Bristol Road.
Our Clerk reported that he has applied to Mess^rs Whitcombe & Griffiths, who has promised to sent the Bill, Deeds, etc, respecting the Company as soon as possible.
Our Clerk reported that Sam^l Browne, a Man employed in working a Vessel of Owner Jn^o Gower, had been detected a few nights since in stealing Coals from the Wharf at Walbridge, and in conveying it into the Troe, and inconsequence has been committed to Glocester Jail. ~~ Ordered that Mess^rs Whitcombe & Griffiths be directed to prosecute the above mentioned Sam^l Browne at the ensuing Glocester Assizes.
M^r Scudamore of Stroud in the County of Glocester attended on behalf of Mary Scudamore his Wife & Eliz^th Willis both of Stroud aforesaid and made out their Claims to two Shares N^o 149, 150 in the Stroudwater Navigtaion late the Property of Sarah Freebury of Stroud aforesaid deceased, by producing Letters of Administration of the Goods, Chattels, and Credits, of the said Sarah Freebury (who died Intestate) Granted the 1^st of Feb 1798 from the Episcopal Court of Glocester to the said Mary Scudamore and Eliz^th Willis, Sisters of the said Sarah Frebbury, who are entitles to the said Shares, and the said Claims are hereby admitted. ~~ Adjourned this Meeting to Monday the 7^th of April next at 3 o Clock in the Afternoon at the Committee room in Walbridge.
