Summary

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Monday the 16th day of November 1846
Present: M^r Will^m Fryer, M^r Rich^d Martin, Dan^l Watts, Fred^k Eycott, Jn^o H Warman, W^m Jn^o Wood, Ger Hen Aug^t Beard, Hen^y Wyat, Jn^o Holbrow Chairman, Geo Wathen.
Ordered That an Advertisement for a Surveyor, similar to the one of May 22nd 1844 be inserted in the two Glocester papers on Saturday next once and once in the Midland Counties Herald stating the Salary at £70 per annum. Testimonials of qualification to be sent to the Canal Office on or before 14th Dec^r next. A personal attendance not being required unless and intimation be given to the party for that purpose.
A Sub Committee consisting of M^r Wood, M^r Warman, M^r Fryer, M^r Wyatt and any other Member of the Committee who may like to attend, to meet on Monday the 14th Dec^r at 1 O'Clock to examine the Testimonials.
M^r Martin reported that he had made enquiries respecting a Crane to be placed at Wallbridge Wharf and letters were read from M^r Sikes and Mess^rs Smith & Hawkes on the same subject.
Ordered that further enquiries be made.
M^r Hawker reported that the accommodation required for M^r Biddle is nearly completed.
M^r Sherwood reported that the Dock at Chippenham Plat and the Step Ladder were not repaired.
Ordered that M^r Hawker do communicate with M^r Benger relative to the Import of Corn and Export of Flour with the view to putting him on the same terms as M^r King of Dudbridge.
