Mr Miles was paid 5s a week for looking after stop gates at Whitminster and recording vessels entering canal from the G&B Canal.
Mr George to be allowed 1s per ton drawback on all coal sent from Stonehouse to beyond Minety Station.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 18th day of September 1850

M^r Hawker produced the Acts of Parliament shewing that the duties of M^r Miles are limited by those Acts of Parliament to attend the Gates for the preservation of the Water in the Stroudwater Navigation and in addition to the above duties he was engaged by a resolution of the Committee of this Navigation to attend to Vessels passing from the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal into the Stroudwater Navigation for a remuneration of five shillings per week.
Ordered that the next Committee Meeting be held on the 23rd day of October next at 12 O'Clock and that the Half Yearly Meeting be held at 2 O'Clock on that day and that our Clerk do give the usual notice.
It appears be a resolution at a Meeting held on the 15th May that a Drawback of nine pence per Ton was allowed to M^r Jn^o George on all Coals landed at Stonehouse Station and forwarded by the Great Western Railway up their line and from a letter produced from M^r George before the Committee this day that the trade in coals might be considerably increased if a further Drawback of three pence per ton could be granted.
It was unanimously agreed that a Drawback of One shilling per ton be now allowed to M^r George on all Coals landed by him at the Stonehouse Wharf that shall be shown to be carried by Rail beyond the Minty Station and that such Drawback of One Shilling per ton be allowed M^r George in lieu of the former Drawback and that the same privilege be granted to all other Traders wishing to avail themselves of it.
