At a General Half Yearly Meeting of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation held at their Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 25th day of April 1854
George Edwards Esq^re in the Chair.
The Minutes of the last General Assembly were read approved and confirmed.
The Several Books and Accounts were produced as directed by the Act of Parliament and were examined and passed.
It appears that the Sum of 2671^£..1^s..2^d has been received for Tonnage, etc, from the first day of October last to the first day of April 1854 part of which has been applied towards the payment of Wages Disbursement, etc, and that there remains in the Hands of the Treasurer after paying the last Dividend the Sum of £2262..6..-.
Ordered that a Dividend of £11 on each Share be declared payable on the first day of May next.
Ordered that the Committee for the ensuing year do consist of the following nine Gentlemen with the addition of M^r Hawker as soon as he ceased to be Clerk:
M^r G H A Beard, M^r J H Warman, F Eycott, W Fryer, C Hooper, C H Fisher, R Martin, T C Croome, H Harris.
Ordered that advertisements be inserted by the Committee into such Papers as they shall see fit for a Clerk to succeed M^r Hawker and that the Salary & Emoluments be stated & the Testimonials be examined by the Committee & reported to a General Meeting to be held on 14th June next for the Election of the Clerk.
Ordered that the Salary for the Clerk be continued as at present at £100 Per annum with the same privileges as to the House at Wallbridge as at present.
