A letter was read from M^r Coley the Secretary of the Stroud Gas C^o to the effect that they required to be placed on the same footing in regard to Tonnage on coals as consumers at Stroud and M^r Hawker having further stated that he had taken some pains to investigate the truth of a statement which had been made to him that parties at Nailsworth were having Coals from the Railway & Upper Wharf at Stroud in consequence of the Tonnage of this Navigation at Dudbridge being higher than at Stroud but that they would continue to have them from Dudbridge as heretofore in the event of the Tonnage at that place being charged the same as at Stroud & had satisfied himself that such was the case and other circumstances having been brought before the Committee in corroboration of the fact,
Resolved that in future a drawback be allowed from the Tonnage on all Coals brought from the Forest of Dean & South Wales & delivered to Dudbridge and from then to all intermediate places up to Wallbridge so as to reduce the same to one uniform rate of one shilling & sixpence per Ton instead of the present rates.
