At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 15^th day of February 1856
Present: M^r Cha^s Hawker, M^r T C Croome Chairman, J H Warman, W Fryer, F Eycott, H Harris, G H A Beard, C Hooper.
M^r Cha^s Hawker of Spilmans Court in the Parish of Rodborough in the County of Gloucester Gentleman attended on behalf of M^r Edwin Cooper of the City of Gloucester Gentleman & made out his claim as Administrator of the Goods Chattels & credits of his Sister Miss Eliza Cooper late of the City of Gloucester Spinster deceased to one Share N^o 178 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation lately belonging to & now standing in the name of the said Eliza Cooper deceased in the books of the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation by producing Letters of Administration bearing date 17^th day of January 1856 from the Consistory Court of the Lord Bishop of Gloucester & Bristol & also producing the Ticket or Title to the said Share & the claim was admitted accordingly and a new Ticket granted.
M^r Thomas Clutterbuck Croome of Cainscross near Stroud attended on behalf of William Cooke of Southgate Street Gloucester grocer & Charlotte Hurcombe of N^o 2 Oxford Street Cheltenham in the County of Gloucester Spinster & made out their claim as Executors of the Will to the late William Cosham Esquire of N^o 2 Oxford Street Cheltenham aforesaid to four Shares numbered 40, 47, 112 & 189 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation lately belonging to & now standing in the name of the said William Cosham in the Books of the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation by producing Probate of the Will of the said William Cosham deceased bearing date the 3^rd day of Oct^r 1854 & proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury on the 28^th day of Nov^r 1855 & also producing the Tickets or Titles of the said Shares & the claim was admitted accordingly and new Tickets ordered to be made out.
M^r Cha^s Sutton of Gravel Hill in the Parish of Painswick in the County of Gloucester Gentlemen attended on behalf of M^r Thomas James Bond of the Parish of Wellington in the County of Somersetshire Gentleman & made out his claim to one Share N^o 50 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation now standing in the Bools of the said Navigation in the name of Elizabeth Mary Sutton by producing the Marriage Certificate of the said Tho^s Ja^s Bond ^ Elizth Mary Sutton at Painswick on the 27^th day of Sep^r 1855 & the claim of the said Tho^s Ja^s Bond is admitted accordingly & a new Ticket ordered to be made out for him.
Letters from M^r George Nurse were produced relative to the claim for damaging the Lock at Eastington which do not satisfactorily account for the non-payment. Ordered that the said claim be enforced.
The Subject of the letting the weighing Machine at Dudbridge was taken into consideration together with the application from M^r Nicholson on behalf of the Parkend Coal Company for permission to use the said weighing Machine without charge and it was resolved that no alteration be made in the use & charge for the Machine at present.
Resolved that the Tonnage on Road Stone carried from Framilode to Wallbridge & entering the Thames & Severn Canal & not carried to Brimscombe Wharf be charged at the rate of 6^d per Ton.
Ordered that the following Bills & accounts be paid viz:
