At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 19^th day of March 1861
Present: M^r J H Warman, M^r T M Croome, F Eycott, Capt^n C H Fisher Chairman, C Hawker, H Harris, G H A Beard.
M^r Thomas Myers Croome of Cainscross near Stroud attended on behalf of Thomas Marling of Berryfield Cottage in the Parish of Stonehouse in the County of Gloucester Esq^re Samuel Stephens Marling of Stanley Part in the Parish of Kingstanley in the same County Esq^re and William Henry Marling of Stanley House in the said Parish of Kingstanley Esq^re and made out their Claim as Executors under the Will of the late Nathaniel Samuel Marling of Stonehouse Court in the said County of Gloucester Esq^r deceased to two Shares numbered respectively 47 and 112 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation lately belonging to and now standing in the name of the said N S Marling deceased in the books of the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation by producing the Probate of the Will of the said N S Marling deceased bearing date the 14^th day of January 1861 & proved with two codicils not affecting the said Shares in the District Registry of her Majesty's Court of Probate at Gloucester on the 14^th of February 1861 by the said Executors and also producing the tickets or Titles to the said Shares and the claim was admitted accordingly and new Tickets ordered to be made out.
Ordered that a Stoppage of the Canal for the purpose of putting in a pair of new gates at Chippenham Plat do take place to commence on Wednesday 1^st May next and end on Wednesday 8^th May both days inclusive.
Ordered that the lead roof over part of the dwelling House at Wallbridge be repaired and M^r Tho"s Webb of Ebley employed to do the Work under the Superintendence of the Surveyor.
Ordered that the General Half Yearly Meeting be held on Thursday the 25^th April next at One o'clock & that M^r Partridge give the usual notices & that the Meeting of the Committee be held on the same day at 12 o'clock.
