Mr Partridge reported that the ‘Surprise’ belonging to Mr James Nurse passed down canal during present month without showing cleared ticket. A lock to be put on gates at Framilode. No vessel to pass without ticket signed at Junction and countersigned at Framilode.
Owners of all vessels discharging cargoes above Westfield Bridge at Eastington to pay tonnages and clear tickets at Company’s Head Office at Wallbridge.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 17^th day of June 1862
Present:: M^r J H Warman, M^r H Harris Chairman, T Marling, C Hooper, F Eycott, C H Fisher, G H A Beard, T M Coome, H H Wilton.
M^r Partridbe having reported that the "Surprise" belonging to M^r James Nurse had passed down the Canal during the present month without having the usual cleared Ticket at either of the Company's appointed places,
Ordered that in future a lock be put on the Gates at Framilode and no vessel be allowed to pass without the Ticket being signed at the Junction and countersigned at Framilode by the Company's Servants, and that a copy of this Order be placed in the Offices of the Company at these places and Strictly adhered to in future.
Ordered that in future the Owners of all vessels discharging cargoes above Westfield Bridge at Eastington be required to pay their Tonnages and clear their Tickets at the Company's head Office at Wallbridge excepting in any particular instances in which the Committee may see it right to order to the contrary.
