At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 28^th day of October 1862
Present: M^r J H Warman, M^r C Hawker Chairman, F Eycott, H H Wilton, H Harris, G H A Beard, T Marling, C H Fisher, T M Croome, C Hooper.
The various accounts Books and Vouchers signed by M^r Cooper the Auditor and certified to be correct were produced and examined and passed.
The Treasurer's books were produced examined and signed.
George Henry Augustus Beard of Leonard Stanley in the County of Gloucester Esquire attended on behalf of himself and Henry Harris of Downfield near Stroud in the same County Gentleman and made out their Claim as Executors under the Will of Eliza Beard of Caniscross near Strod in the said County Spinster deceased to three Shares numbered respectively 42, 162 and 66 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation lately belonging to and now standing in the name of the said Eliza Beard deceased in the Books of the Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigtion by producing the Probate of the Will of the said Elize Beard deceased bearing date the 24 day of June 1857 and proved with a Codicil in the District Register of Her Majesty's Court of Probate at Gloucester on the 22^d day of July 1862 and also producing the Tickets or Titles of the said Shares and the Claim was admitted accordingly.
Bills ordered to be paid:
Income Tax 2 quarters due 26^th Sep^t: 65..12..6
M^r Driver reported that M^r Sims of Framilode had removed a Valve at the mouth of the Culvert passing under the Canal and had lengthened the Culvert and not replaced the Valve. Ordered that M^r Sims having done this without the consent of the Company be required to reinstall the Valve in the original position at once and that the Clerk write to him to that Effect. Ordered that M^r Eycott & M^r Fisher be a deputation to inspect and report upon certain encroachments recently made by M^r SIms at the same point.
