Action against Mr Marston of The Leaze, Eastington, for compensation for taking water from canal for his house and land. Withdrawn on payment of costs and 10s for compensation.
Mr G. Ford promised to repair injury to towing path as early as possible.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 19^th day of December 1865
Present: M^r J H Warman, J T Fisher Chairman, G H A Beard, C Hooper, T M Croome, C H Fisher.
An Action having been commenced against M^r Marston of the Leaze Eastington to recover compensation for injury by him in taking water from the Canal for the purposes of his house and Land - He attended the Meeting when it was Resolved on his paying the costs and ten shillings for compensation the Action shall be withdrawn, he explaining that there was no intention on his part of acting wrongfully and admitting that, after consideration, he felt satisfied he had no right to such Water.
Mess^rs Warman, C H Fisher and Beard reported that in pursuance of a Resolution passed at the last Meeting that they had attended at the Ryeford and met M^r G Ford and pointed out to him the injury his Firm was doing to the property of the Company and after considerable discussion he promised to repair the injury which had been done, as early as possible.
